How to Pass
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
This was created for the dollmaker jam and LGBTQ+ horror jam 2025.
Sorry to those in the dollmaker jam for not making the game browser playable. This was our first game ever and we learned a whole bunch from working on this. But that means we also don't know how to, like, do stuff. It said the game was too big to run in browser.
The game has some audio issues, so we highly encourage users to wear headphones and fiddle with volume. This game also has content warnings included. It deals with heavy stuff (white supremacy, transphobia, and suicide). There's no VO for the student. If the game gets a good response, we may add VO for that character.
You play as a teacher in a student teaching program at a conservative district. It has three different endings. It also contains all original art by Virocto and all writing and voice lines were done by me.
And, if you want, you can share this game with my administrators and get me fired.

Would you be able to change the font type/colour and/or background colour, I find that the white on pink is hard on the eyes.
Better?
Very much. Thanks!
This hits harder than any other horror game I could play, I think. The impending dread of the fact I know I'm going to close this game and then send of more job applications that will be immediately rejected because I'm openly trans. then I'll chat with all my friends who are either unemployed or hiding part of themself at work because that's simply life for us. I hope in the future things will be better, even if we have to fight for it. I loved the game even if it made me cry.
The art on this was luxurious!! Your story highlighted the struggle of navigating this gauntlet well: Picking a save answer and trying to put as much compassion into it without endangering you or the other person. Or going with an answer that will cause you harm in order to help someone else. I really liked that your speech highlighted how capable the other teachers are, and how these arbitrary boundries make them drop all of that, because they believe it is the right thing to do …
It is so sad to read this, because navigating relationships in general can be challenging already. But then adding to that the masquerade, the stress of dropping the facade, and the risk of hurting others … that is quite a lot.
On another note: I loved how you included the dress up UwU Also, also: Loved your voice acting <3
I loved it. Basicbean said everything I could say.. Fallout New Vegas is a good choice of game. Thank you for submitting!
Thank you for hosting! Very inspiring jam! :D
I loved it!! The art is so so cute, the writing and the voice performance was awesome too! Navigating the social dynamics of being a trans teacher in this world seems truly terrifying, but your story highlights how important that sort of representation can be for students. I absolutely agree that queer educators save lives, we need more of them, not less.
